The GC&PA Concrete Industry Scholarship has been established to provide an educational opportunity for any student recommended by an employee of a member company. You may download a copy of the Scholarship Application if you have adobe acrobat reader.

Purpose:

Scholarships are to be awarded to a qualified student recommended by an individual whose company is a member in good standing of GC&PA. The applicant shall live in Georgia or its contiguous states. Scholarships are to be awarded to a first-year student or a transfer student who intends to major in Concrete Industry Management at Middle Tennessee State University.

The scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $2,500 each year for up to four years while attending MTSU.

Criteria:

The MTSU scholarship will be awarded to the individual who meets the following criteria at the time of the award. The student must:

• Meet the requirements for admission or transfer to MTSU (20 on the ACT
  and 2.8 high school grade point average on a 4.0 scale)
• Be active in high school and/or community groups.
• Exhibit a strong interest in pursuing a career in the concrete industry.
• Major in Concrete Industry Management.

• Maintain a 2.5 grade point average.
• Be classified as a full time student. (minimum of 12 credit hours per semester) pursuing a Concrete Industry Management major.

General Scholarship:

If there are no applicants for the MTSU scholarship, two $1,000 general scholarships may be awarded to the most qualified graduating high school seniors planning to major in business or the sciences. These scholarships will be awarded to the individual and the college or university of their choice. Applicants must meet all criteria for the MTSU scholarship to receive the general scholarship.

Application Procedure:

Interested applicants may obtain the applications to MTSU and the general scholarship program through the GC&PA office (800-338-2868). The completed applications must be submitted to GC&PA by March 15 for scholarship to be awarded for the following school year. MTSU faculty and GC&PA scholarship committee members will select the scholarship recipient.
